Terms of Service
The rules for using SplitStream’s shared expense ledger.
Last updated: August 28, 2026
Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the SplitStream app and website. SplitStream is personally operated by Bashar Majed Ramadan, an individual developer based in the United Arab Emirates. Pixel Forge Dev is the public developer name and is not a separate company or legal entity. By using SplitStream, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Who may use SplitStream
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If local law requires parental permission for a person under the age of legal majority, that permission is required.
A shared ledger, not a financial service
SplitStream records shared expenses and calculates informal balances between people who know each other. It is not a bank, wallet, payment processor, money transmitter, lender, financial adviser, or debt collector.
SplitStream never holds or transfers money. Any payment happens outside the service. Marking a balance as settled records what users say happened; it does not verify or execute a payment.
Your account
You are responsible for your device, sign-in account, and activity performed through your SplitStream account. Provide accurate information, keep access secure, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized use.
Groups and shared content
Group members can see shared ledger content. Only add people you trust and enter information you are allowed to share. Group owners manage membership and may transfer ownership according to the controls available in the app.
You remain responsible for the accuracy of expenses, splits, settlements, descriptions, and other content you add. SplitStream’s calculations depend on the information users provide.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use SplitStream for fraud, harassment, unlawful debt collection, or any illegal activity;
- access another person’s account or a group you are not authorized to join;
- upload malicious code or attempt to bypass security or usage limits;
- misrepresent payments, identities, or expenses to harm another person;
- scrape, resell, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service except where law expressly allows it.
Availability and changes
We may improve, change, limit, or discontinue features. We work to keep SplitStream reliable, but the service may sometimes be unavailable or data may be delayed while a device is offline. Keep independent proof of important payments or agreements.
Suspension and deletion
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent abuse, comply with law, or address a serious violation of these Terms. You may stop using SplitStream or request account deletion at any time. Shared ledger records may be anonymized and retained as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and liability
SplitStream is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that another user will pay a balance, that user-entered information is correct, or that the service will always be uninterrupted.
To the extent permitted by law, Bashar Majed Ramadan is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, lost profits, or disputes between users arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice before it takes effect where required.
